Questions, answered.

The quick answers are below. If you’re stuck, email hello@notivive.com and a human will reply, usually within two business days.

Why does NOTIVIVE need Usage Access?

Usage Access is how NOTIVIVE knows that you’ve been in one app for a long stretch, or that you’re hopping between apps. That’s the signal it uses to pick a good moment. Without it, NOTIVIVE can’t tell a useful moment from a bad one, so it stays quiet.

It only sees which app is open and for how long, never what’s inside. The data stays on your phone. To turn it on or off: Android Settings → Apps → Special app access → Usage access → NOTIVIVE.

Why is notification access optional?

NOTIVIVE works well without it. If you turn it on, NOTIVIVE can see that other apps are posting notifications (which app, when, and how many), so it can avoid piling onto an already noisy moment. It never reads notification text or message contents.

You can switch it off any time in Android Settings → Notifications → Device & app notifications.

How do I make NOTIVIVE quieter?

A few ways, from gentlest to strongest:

  • Tap Not now on an interruption. NOTIVIVE backs off, and ignored interruptions reduce future frequency on their own.
  • Switch intensity to Quiet (up to 2 a day) in Settings. Balanced allows up to 4 and Coach Me up to 7. These are ceilings, not targets.
  • Turn off the kinds of interventions you don’t want in Settings.
How do quiet hours work?

During quiet hours NOTIVIVE sends nothing. They default to 10 PM to 8 AM in your local time, and you can change them in Settings → Quiet hours. NOTIVIVE also respects Do Not Disturb and any notification channels you’ve turned off in Android.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Google Play. Open the Play Store → tap your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → NOTIVIVE → Cancel. You keep Premium until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then NOTIVIVE switches to Free.

You can also get there from NOTIVIVE: Settings → Subscription → Manage in Google Play.

I got a new phone. How do I restore Premium?

Sign in to the same Google account you used to subscribe, install NOTIVIVE, and go to Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases. Your subscription is tied to your Google Play account, not to a NOTIVIVE account (there isn’t one).

Will NOTIVIVE drain my battery?

It shouldn’t. NOTIVIVE doesn’t run a permanent background service or poll every minute. It checks usage summaries occasionally using Android’s standard scheduler, which batches work with other apps. If you use an aggressive battery saver, some interruptions may arrive late or not at all, and that’s fine: silence is a feature.

Does NOTIVIVE show ads in notifications?

Never. In Free mode, a small number of clearly labeled sponsor cards appear inside the app only. There are no ads during the trial or on Premium.

How do I delete my data?

In the app, go to Settings → Delete all my data. Uninstalling NOTIVIVE also removes everything. More detail on the data deletion page.
